Q: Where is the festival located? A: Hungry Mother Festival is held on the beautiful grounds of Hungry Mother State Park, outside Marion, VA. The address is 2854 Park Blvd, Marion, VA 24354

Q: Are there evening activities? A: Marion Downtown is holding evening events on Main Street Friday & Saturday evening for the “Hungriest Mother” festival and food challenge – head downtown for live music, food trucks & more. Visit their FB page for details.

Q: What is the cost? A: Admission to the festival is free. Parking is $10/day or $15/weekend pass. There is also a free shuttle from the Marion Farmers Market.

Q: When does the free shuttle run, and how do I catch it? A: The free shuttle departs from the Marion Farmers Market parking lot in downtown Marion. Free parking is available at the Marion municipal parking garage a few blocks away. The shuttle runs on a continuous loop from 9:30am until the festival closes each evening.

Q: Is the festival handicap accessible? A: Yes, the festival grounds are accessible, and paths are ADA compliant.

Q: Are pets allowed? A: Yes, as long as they are leashed at all times. Q: Are there vendor slots available? A: Vendor slots are full for 2022. Vendors are confirmed in mid-spring by the festival committee. To inquire about exhibiting at next year’s festival, email Note: festival volunteers will never solicit payment up front. Q: Who organizes the festival, and where does the money go? A: Hungry Mother Festival is organized by the Art League of Marion, a non-profit group dedicated to promoting the arts year-round. Parking fees go to support the programs and scholarships of the Art League, as well as the Friends of Hungry Mother State Park.

The annual Hungry Mother Festival is the longest running festival in Virginia to be held in a State Park. The Hungry Mother Festival is sponsored by the Art League of Marion, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of art, theater, and music. Proceeds from the festival fund a variety of cultural activities including art scholarships and a county-wide art show for high school students. The Hungry Mother Festival brings together arts and crafts vendors, entertainment, live music, food, and family fun. All set in beautiful Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, Virginia.
