This three day festival has been an annual tradition for decades, starting when Chilhowie was the apple capital of Virginia. Feel like one of the locals with fun and free events, including Grand Parade, the crowning of Miss Chilhowie, a pet competition and exhibits.
Live music at the Apple Festival
We are pleased to announce the performance of “The P. F. Flyers” from 6:30 until 9:30 on Saturday, September 25, 2021 on the stage in the Chilhowie Town Park during the 67th Chilhowie Apple Festival. This concert is part of the Town of Chilhowie’s Summer Concert Series. We want to extend a warm welcome to Graham Clark, former Chilhowie High School coach and member of the band. We look forward to this event and know that all appreciate its addition to the Festival events by the town.
Apple orchard tours with Tumbling Creek Cider
New in 2021, apple orchard tours are back! In conjunction with the Apple Festival, local hard cider maker Tumbling Creek Cider Company is offering free tours of its apple orchards. Tour groups will consist of no more than twelve individuals and will board passenger vans from the Berry’s Truss Shop Parking lot by Highway 11 across front the festival grounds. Masks will be required during the van rides and in any indoor spaces. Tours will leave at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 24, 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 25, and 2:00 pm and Sunday, September 26, 2021. A cider tasting garden will also be set up at the Truss Shop location all three days during festival hours.
